Michigan grindcore punks CLOUD RAT are ready to exorcise the wickedest of demons with their newest album, MOKSHA, to be released by HALO OF FLIES RECORDS on January 22. Ferocious and unrelenting, Moksha is a record infused with doses of melody and bludgeoning heaviness, tortured vocals and lyrics that dig up harsh memories. Still, through the jaws of darkness, Cloud Rat manages to salvage an ounce of hope within it all.
"We aren’t afraid to experiment with new sounds and ideas, but not so much that we lose sight of what we are predominantly: punks playing really fast."

August 6th isn’t gonna be there soon enough. Listen to two tracks online:
Full of Hell - Roots of earth are consuming my home. Another mandatory addition to my Anger playlist.
Since 2009, grinding death in the form of a hardcore punk band based out of Maryland and Pennsylvania, USA.
Zeus! is a guitar/drums duo from Italy & you should listen to them if you like fast & crazy music that reminds me of The Locust & Lightning Bolt.
The crazy powerviolence/grindcore duo from Seattle, Iron Lung has released a third LP, White Glove Test. Listen to the entire album on bandcamp or buy the record on Prank records. I can’t wait to see them live again so please guys on your next east coast tour think about stopping in Richmond (you have a secret French groupie there).
OK, so I have previously talked on here about how the members of Pissed Jeans used to play together in a different configuration as The Gatecrashers. What I didn’t know until just now was that they also used to be the hilarious wrestling-themed joke grindcore band The Ultimate Warriors. I have a 21 song 7 inch by the Ultimate Warriors that features songs with great titles like “Don’t Yell Names Of Stupid Metal Bands Between Our Songs” and “I’m Not Hardcore Enough To Like Star Wars.” The music is a sloppy mess, but it’s a FUN sloppy mess—as proven by the 22 second video above. I got that video from their old label’s website, and if you’re curious, their label has also offered up a free download of their entire discography (it’s 99 tracks, but if it lasts longer than half an hour I’ll be shocked). The post is a few years old, and the mediafire link is the only one that still works, but if you’re curious at all, I highly recommend it. It’s some silly shit, but sometimes that’s just what the doctor ordered.
Hahaha I need this soon if only for the titles of the songs. Being members of Pissed Jeans I’m sure it will also be musically interesting even if it’s a joke grindcore band.
Graf Orlock, the cinegrind band. If you think grindcore shouldn’t be taken too seriously & you like movie audio clips in your songs.
Dead in the Dirt played an impressive show Sunday night, I’m not surprised their first album was released on Southern Lord. If you were in need of some angry uncompromising hardcore..
Get the digital/physical release on their bandcamp.
It’s Friday night, time to wake up & smell the gasoline. http://www.comfail.com
Related to my previous post, you can also find a 16 min remix by Merzbow on Spotify Merzbow – The Inalienable Dreamless (Complete)
So Spotify is telling me that Liberteer is related to Feedtime & Whirr? I like grindcore & this seems a good album but seriously Spotify, it’s time to work on your radios, you’re still a long way to Pandora with this kind of associations.
check this shit out. these dudes rule.
Magrudergrind during Best Friends Day 10, August 21st 2011. As always with them, a short but very intense set that really started the day for me.
