Finally found Brume Retina’s last album streaming online, on the bandcamp of one of the label that released it. Great screaming noisy hardcore from Paris. I miss seeing them live…
Brume Retina plays frenetic, fast screaming music, with odd song structures, and beautiful guitar melodies.
Comity is a chaotic hardcore/mathcore band from Paris that started playing music in 1996. Too bad they don’t have more recent releases on Spotify because the album “As everything is a tragedy" is a masterpiece if you like the genre.
Public Service Announcement
The two previous posts were specifically aimed at the Parisian mafia amongst my followers. Sorry for the interruption, rest of the world, this blog is now coming back to its normal routine.
Visited the Catacombs of Paris today. The remains of around six million people are stacked deep under the city. They date back as far as the late 18th century. It is a an awe-inspiring place.
Always loved that place. This is the part that’s open to the public for a visit but if you know the right persons you can also go down the closed areas where rumors say black masses & weird raves have been known to happen in secret. Which of course I’ve never been to if you wanted to ask since it’s totally prohibited…

Untitled, protest in Paris, 2008-2010 by Romain S. Donadio
Romain made a series of great black & white pictures of various protests in Paris.
Muséum national d’histoire naturelle - Paris.
I’ve said before how much I love that museum & this statue located near the entrance used to scare me a lot as a kid. Orangutan uprising!
